Vision Board

A few years ago I went through a difficult season where I felt really lost and couldn’t seem to find any breakthrough. There were a number of things I did during that time…

Sought counseling, read books, prayed, exercised, ate right, reached out to friends, etc, etc, etc.

We’ve all been there, right?

Recently, I was reminded of one specific thing I did during that time. A friend of mine, Luci Lampe, runs a business called “Sexy Mama Movement” where her goal is to build up, empower and help moms to live their “sexiest” mom life (because being a mom and wife can be not so glamorous sometimes). Luci recently posted this video about a vision board and it reminded me of the vision board I made during this challenging season. She shared “It really does make such a difference in our mindset to have a visual reminder of what we are working toward. For years, I’ve talked about visualization and having vision, but literally adding the vision board (FINALLY) has made a huge difference”.

I had same experience when I made my vision board. After completing it, I kept it by my prayer chair. My husband had a picture copy of it on his phone. It was a daily reminder, prayer focus and inspiration to move forward with the things God put on my heart.

It looked like this:

After Luci’s video, I decided to make another one and it’s been such a great process. I specifically prayed about words and things that I was personally working on for myself, in my marriage, at work, with my kids, etc. I clipped pictures out of magazines that went along and then I also went to Google to find some images of things that I was specifically pinpointing. After getting all my piece’s… I laid everything out, put on some worship music and created a new board.

Here’s my finished product:

Whether you are doing awesome right now, going through a challenging season or just looking for some inspiration, I challenge you to make a personal inspiration board! We need to remind ourselves of what our goals are, what the vision is that God put in our hearts and challenge ourselves give our best!

Here’s some scripture to spur you on in your vision journey!

  1. Trust in the LORD with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6

  2. Think on whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things. Philippians 4:77

  3. Delight yourself in theLord and He will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord, trust also in Him and He will do it. Psalm 37:4-5

  4.  Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us. Ephesians 5:20

  5. This is the confidence which we have before Him that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests which we have asked from Him.          I John 5:14-15

  6.  If you abide in Me and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish and it will be done for you. John 15:7

  7.  Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7

  8.  Brethren, I do not regard myself as having laid hold of it yet; but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead. I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Philippians 3:13-14

  9.  For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love and sound mind. I Timothy 1:7

  10.  A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children and the wealth of the sinner is stored up for the righteous. Proverbs 13:223

  11.  I can do all things through Him who strengthens me. Philippians 4:13

  12.  A good name is to be more desired than great wealth and favor is better than silver and gold.  Proverbs 22:13
