Hello! Pleased to e-meet you! I’m Laura Thomas, the founder and editor here at Missionary Mama. As a teenager, Jesus won my heart and filled me with a deep desire to live this one life I have with purpose (see Ephesians 5:15). At the time I thought I’d set sail for Africa and never come back, but so far He has had other plans which involve an awesome husband who reminds me to lighten up when I’m too serious and four children ages 12 and under who keep me on my toes. All day long.

My aim in writing here at Missionary Mama is to encourage and spur you on towards living a life full of joyful intentionality. I know that while mothering comes with plenty of frustrations (where are all those missing socks and why can’t I ever seem to find a matching pair?!) it comes with even more joys than can be counted, first of which is nurturing these precious and immortal souls who have been entrusted into our care.

When I’m not writing you’ll find me homeschooling my kids, exploring the Great Outdoors, jogging, drinking mochas, reading, traveling, and hanging out with my co-workers – other moms like yourself whose presence make my load each day a little lighter.
